News > The Red Deer Chamber celebrates a great victory this weekend on the national stage
This weekend Chamber President Gayle A. Langford joined Tim Creedon, Executive Director and Jonathan Seib, Policy Coordinator at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting in Hamilton, Ontario.
Red Deer's delegation brought forward two key policy resolutions: "Address Issues in Foreign Worker Programs" and "Strengthen Canada's Workforce through Tax Indexing". Furthermore, the Chamber co-sponsored an additional policy, “Canada Revenue Agency Impact on Small Business”, in partnership with the Camrose Chamber of Commerce. After engaging in debate, and gaining the support of the rest of the country's chambers, we are very pleased to announce that all of Red Deer's policy priorities were passed and will be adopted for advocacy by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
The delegation would like to thank the policy committee for all its hard work in developing these resolutions in the past year. Should you desire more information on The Red Deer Chamber of Commerce's policy and advocacy activities or if you are interested in getting involved, contact Jonathan Seib at (403) 347-4491 or jseib@reddeerchamber.com.
